Happy Birthday St.Augustine

It’s our town’s birthday!
1-LOGOedited_001

This weekend, our fair city has it’s 443rd birthday, which, as far as American cities go, is the oldest. In your face, Colonial Williamsburg! There are heaps of activities planned, and from 5pm to 8pm, us dirty pirates will be over at Ripley’s Believe It or Not, believe it or not. Come hang out with loads of people, pirates like us, and guys with 8 fingers and four eyes or cats with two heads or a dude with a horn growing out of his head or that really tall dude from Alton, IL or an actual mermaid, which is really half of a monkey so it hardly counts, and someone who can poke his own eyeballs out.

Stickers are Important!

We have stickers! Hooray Stickers! Everybody loves stickers!!

If you come by McKnights on Fridays, you might get a cool looking sticker like this hansome truck driver.

Three New Songs! (hooray!)

I’ve put up The Last Shanty, The Moose Song and South Austrailia. Look at all the Moose lyrics!

Ren Fest Music Podcasts

For those of you “lucky” enough to see us goof around for free beer (aka, performing), you know we have somewhat of a taste for the traditional music of the sea and the olden days. While it’s difficult to find a nice pirate-themed podcast (mostly because cable modems don’t work at sea), I have stumbled upon a podcast you all might like.

Renaissance Festival Podcast

Maybe one day, we’ll be on this podcast, but of course, we have to go to a ren fest first!

Talk Like a Pirate Day - coming soon

Just a reminder that Talk LIke a Pirate day is right around the corner. Two months and counting. That’s only 8.6 weeks. Sixty days!! 1,461 hours from now!! 5 million seconds. A little over 4 fortnights!!

Hmm, why am I treating it like Talk LIke a Mathemetician Day.

A New (old) World

Tonight, as well as July 5th, we Pirates will be hanging out at the Dow Saint Augustine Village Museum over by the Lightner, off of Cordova. This could be a recurring “thing” and Nemo’s even been given the opportunity to get something truly interesting off the ground: A Pirate Bar.

Look! We're famous

During a recent outing, we were by a huge group (of 1 person) frantically taking action shots (while standing still and posing), and the results may be seen on her blog over at candidcool.blogspot.com.

Discovery Dave's Condo Party

We Pirates did a gig at the condos down on Butler Beach. There was plenty of beer, margharitas, rum runners, kids, songs, sand, rain, burried treasure, parking issues, coins, eye patches and other stuff to make the whole event fun. Somehow Sugar In The Hold Below became a song about man-on-dolphin love. Now that’s entertainment!

McKnights tonight!

We’ll see you all tonight at McKnights around 9pm for the usual jollifications.

Don’t forget, Drunken Pony Races at 10pm. Winner gets his name inscribed (with an erasable marker) on a marble trophy (made of plastic) for all time (until next week).

Bon Voyage Le Bon Zhuzhu

To the family and crew of Le Bon Zhuzhu

We enjoyed coming aboard and entertaining you all with our terrible singing and boring stories. Have a safe trip and look us up on your way back through.

Sincerely,
Your Favorite Pirates.

Pirates vs Ninjas

The eternal debate rages.

My friend Gayle over at Pirate Pictures, who’s the producer of the (eventual) movie Shadowland, sent along this inspirational image.

Pirates are cooler-1

It’s true. You can ask the government or somebody.

Our coolness and snobishness points are up!

Look at us everybody! We now have a Facebook group for all you folks who find the seizure-causing colors and noise from Myspace causes your eyes to bleed, but not necessarily those of you who find that Facebook contains none of your friends and looks rather boring.

Anyways, click here, to be whisked away to our nascent Facebook group.

McKnight's

We’ve been invited to hang out and be all piratical at McKnight’s in Downtown Saint Augustine, not the one on the island which is closed. McKnights would like to invite everyone to come have a series of “Drunken Ponies”, which is this concoction of champagne, hard cider, and hangover, which is fun for all involved.

McKnight’s is right in the plaza, by the bridge, and may be one of the tinyest frontages for any bar or shop in the town.

Fountain of Youth

The pirates were invited to participate in the annual “Fountain of Youth - Good job with all the school groups - Welcome to Summer” party. Mmm, Hamburgers. Pirates like Hamburgers. Some pirates like corn-based dips.

Chamber of Commerce

We got invited to bother all the people out at the Chamber of Commerce meeting at Hurricane Patties. A few pics are up, here.

A man is being prosecuted for flying a Jolly Roger

A british man is in irons with his local council for flying a Jolly Roger. They're making him take it down.

The Whole Article

That's a little excessive. Some folks really need to spend a great deal more time worrying about their own problems, rather than bothering others with their personal beliefs.

MySpace.com is now open

We here, at the Three Sheets to the Wind headquarters, are fully aware of the fact that MySpace exists, and the true measure of the talent of any particular group of people is not the ability to entertain so much as the ability to make friends. I personally base this on the number of unsolicited "Be My Friend" requests I get from people I have never heard of, who usually wind up wanting to sell me some pictures.

However, we are also keenly aware that MySpace is a convenient place for people to get in touch with each other, and is indeed, the acting patriarch of online social networks. So, as a response to tons of requests we've been getting (nearly all of which coming from inside the group!), Shauna Muerta has taken on the "Make a MySpace page" challenge.

So folks, sit down, click here and become our friend:

Also, Johnny Come Down to Hilo, Poor old man!

The Beaches are now Open

We (except Nemo of course) went up to Jax Beach to participate in the 62nd annual parade. Scott, Woolly and the Sheik spent the parade following the Polly B while sword fighting. We did sword fights for the full 20 blocks. We were awesome, but did we get in the news? No. That honor goes to our magician friend William Mayhem.

(The article mentions the Fernandina Pirates. That's not us. This whole parade was pirate themed.)

The Goonies is playing at Treaty Oak in downtown Jacksonville. Here's more info. The Goonies had pirates in it.

THe first group of pictures

I posted some pictures from the time we went to the British Pub on the island, and behaved irresponsibly.

What Shall We Do with a Drunken Sailor

I (finally) added Drunken Sailor. The ol' standby.

We (Barely) Made the news!

Look! We got on the news!

Well, alright, the segment was really about the birthday party and the cancer fund raising, but the segment opened with William Scott sounding his horn. Now you know we're all bound for stardom.

The first few songs

We've put up our first few songs. Of course, we stole them off of the internet, but so did everybody else.

- Paddy Lay Back
- Old Dun Cow
- The Derelict
- Bully in the Alley
- Hanging Johnnie
- All for me Grog

The New Website

Ahoy, Mateys!

You like how I said "Ahoy" and "Mateys"? It's all very piratey. And, did you notice the skull and crossbones up there in the corner? Yes, yes, that's all piratey as well.

You see, we here at the internet headquarters of a bunch of guys who dress funny and sing old songs. Really old songs.

And we have a blog!

So, as you can see, using words like "ahoy" and "blog" on the same website is clearly, CLEARLY, bookmarkable. Also, in the coming weeks, we'll be building this already entertaining page, but in the mean time, here's a picture of Scott.
